Some examples of wedding poems for your wedding invitations

What is a wedding poem?

When writing a wedding invitation it has become more and more common to use a wedding poem. A poem is a written expression of emotion, some poems are often in rhymes but this is not always the case.

A wedding poem is the same in that it is words in a verse describing emotions and feelings but specifically about a wedding or a topic involved such as the bride and groom, the ceremony, their life together for example.

There are many examples of wedding poems written, some examples are below, and you can also write a poem yourself. This approach is more personal to the bride and groom and their own experiences together.

Here are a few examples of wedding poems:

You're Invited!

A wedding is coming!
Details inside.
Come celebrate
With the groom and the bride.

There’ll be music and food,
Joy and fun—come and see,
And please let us know
With your RSVP.

Wonderful Life

Congratulations on your marriage,
Have a wonderful life!
You are two terrific people,
Now teamed as man and wife.

A team with blessings like yours
Will live a life you'll cherish;
You’ll find happiness everywhere,
For your love will never perish.

Your Presence Is Requested

Your presence is requested at
A moment of transcendence.
The mystery of two as one
Requires your attendance.
You will witness something more
Than ordinary life:
The transformation of two souls
Into a man and wife.

Vested in Your Heart Is All My Hope

Vested in your heart is all my hope,
As I must hope that yours is all in mine.
Love both narrows and expands our scope,
Extending each to each as we combine.
No boundaries of ourselves themselves remain.
Tides of need consume our shifting shore.
Innocent, we talk of loss or gain,
Not knowing quite what marriage has in store.
Each is now both everything and none.
'Twixt the self and selflessness lies passion.
So may we be twain and also one,
Destined for a fate that love will fashion.
As we exchange our vows this day of love,
Yet may they all our years within us move.
