What are some of the different styles of wedding invitations?
First piece of your wedding – your wedding invitations
Your wedding invitation is the first piece from your wedding that people are going to see and so this should reflect the tone and formality of the day.
A variety of styles to choose from, here is just a few:
These days there is a wide variety of styles to choose from:
- Classic design - usually plain white with white ribbons or light patterns
- Contemporary – a more abstract approach that uses vibrant block colours
- Couples – displays an arrangement of a man and a woman on the invitation either a picture or cartoon or some kind of graphic of a couple together
- Floral – different designs that are all based on flowers or a floral display, some more busy than others, all in an array of colours and different types of flowers to match the flowers of your wedding such as Roses or Lilies fro example.
- Layered – this consists of having a more 3D effect to the invitation using layers, usually of different colours and textures to give the impression of depth to the invitation.
Carry out the style throughout your wedding
Whatever style you choose, the same style should be carried out throughout your wedding, such as same colours, same design, and same mood. When having your wedding invitations created you may wish to consider designing:
- Response cards
- Order of service sheets
- Menus
- Table or Seating Plans
- Table Name Cards
- Place Cards
- Guest scrolls
- Thank you cards
- Envelope seals
- Cake boxes
- Bridal favour boxes
- Mints or chocolates with personalised wrappers
The above all depends on your budget as to whether you’d like to include these within your wedding but it is advised to use the same style as your wedding invitations if you do.
