How much do wedding invitations cost?
What’s included when purchasing your invitations:
The cost of your wedding invitations will greatly depend on the invitation itself. For example the design, the materials used creating the invitation, the printing method, and the amount of invitations needed.
Ideas of cost of the invitations:
Before you purchase your invitations have a browse around and compare the quality of the invitations and the price, when comparing the price it’s easier if you compare 100 invitations. They are usually priced per invitation ranging from about £1 each with do-it-yourself kits, to approximately £3 for a designed invitation to £7 each for a professional high-end retailer. On average about £500 is spent on the invitations to give you an idea for costing out your wedding. When purchasing your invitations certain items are usually included, such as matching envelopes, and reply cards and reply envelopes so the guest can RSVP.
A few tips while ordering your wedding invitations:
- Order your invitations at least 4 months prior to the wedding. You do not want to have to rush the printer, after all you have spent so much time choosing the design, considering the wording, spent the expense, and it’s the first thing your guests are going to see from your special day and you do not want to rush it at the last minute and ruin them.
- Order extra invitations! Order about 30 additional invitations just in case you need them, and ordering them while your having the bulk printed will be a lot cheaper than if you did it after.
- Create your own wedding invitations to save on cost and add the personal touch to your wedding.
- Proof read your invitations thoroughly before they go to print, the printers will not take responsibility for this and you will have to pay again for the printing if there is a spelling mistake or if the date or location is wrong for example.
